P365 D96: Say a Little Prayer

In Chinese Taoist Buddhist culture, incense sticks are used as aids for people to worship and make offerings to the deities. They also used by Taoists and Confucianists to pray for their ancestors and family members who have passed on.

In regards their use to pray for family members who have passed on, incense sticks can be considered a practical communication tool for people to remember their loved ones, honour their memories and ‘talk’ to them. While we may not be able to prove or disprove that the messages are received, people do find it comforting to know that at least they have a way to let their loved ones know that they are still deeply respected and lovingly remembered.
